Tradition
Karatepraxis stands for karate with substance and impact.
Founder Christian Wedewardt (7th Dan) and the experienced karatepraxis team stand for sustainable quality in practical, application-oriented karate. Their goal is not only to teach karate, but to make it understandable – and to convey it in a way that works in everyday life.
The idea behind Karatepraxis is not merely to reproduce the familiar traditional 3K structure – consisting of Kihon (basics), Kata (forms), and Kumite (sparring) – but to purposefully develop it further. This is not about breaking with tradition, but about a contemporary interpretation that returns karate to its original context as functional self-defense.
At the heart of this approach is kata – not as a stylized sequence of movements, but as a coded system of principles, concepts, and tactics relevant to real-life confrontations. Every technique, stance, and turn is examined for its applicability in concrete self-defense situations. From this emerge logical defense concepts, tactical behavior, and meaningful action alternatives – adapted to age, mobility, and level of experience.
Karatepraxis is not a system “of the past,” but a living, learnable approach that understands karate as a tool for personal development, self-assertion, and self-defense. Anyone who wants to experience karate with purpose, structure, and impact will find here a modern interpretation of an ancient art – well-founded, clear, and rooted in practical application.
What defines Karatepraxis:
- Practical Karate with Substance and Impact
- Further development of the classical 3K structure
- Kata as a functional foundation
- Partner training with “bio-feedback” for technique optimization
- Fokus auf Selbstverteidigung & Handlungskompetenz
- Individually adaptable concepts
- Clear, structured, and methodically designed
All Karatepraxis instructors are available for flexible booking – individually or as a team, tailored to your needs.
